Our Story
A Journey That Began with Passion
The story of Sphinx Adonis Events began in 1994, when brothers Dheeraj and Vikram Waghray founded the Sphinx Football Club in Pune. To raise support for the team, they organised an inter-collegiate fashion and dance competition, which became the foundation of a new journey.
In the years that followed, Sphinx Adonis Events organised events for Cadbury, Berger Paints, Ariel, and Head & Shoulders. In 2002, they hosted India’s first EDM film festival featuring Bally Sagoo and collaborated with Yash Raj Films to promote its movies on the ground.
By 2003, the company had shifted focus to industrial and corporate ceremonies, managing its first factory inauguration for LG Electronics, an event that shaped its future direction. From that point, Sphinx Adonis Events specialised in inaugurations and groundbreaking ceremonies, building unmatched expertise in planning, protocol, and execution.
Today, with more than 500+ inaugurations delivered and a presence across six countries, Sphinx Adonis Events continues to transform milestones into meticulously planned experiences.

The Path We Built
1995
The inaugural event was a fundraiser that supported a football club, but it also marked the beginning of something much larger.
2002
Collaborations with Yash Raj Films and hosting India’s first EDM Film Festival featuring Bally Sagoo.
2003
Officially incorporated, marking the transition to a fully operational and large-scale event management company.
2004
Pioneering factory inaugurations, starting with LG Electronics, marking our specialization in groundbreaking events.
2006
Crossed the 50-event milestone in factory openings and groundbreaking ceremonies, setting new industry benchmarks.
2009-2012
After 100 factory events, Sphinx Adonis Events cemented its leadership, expanding to six offices and delivering 150+ groundbreaking and opening ceremonies.
2015
Managed a high-profile GE opening ceremony with India’s Prime Minister Modi, establishing Sphinx Adonis Events as a leader in international event management.
2016
Launched our subsidiary in Dubai, marking our entry into the Middle East with a key event for KSB and Al Masaood Group in Abu Dhabi.
2017
Expanded into Sri Lanka’s MICE sector with ABANS Group as our first client, enhancing our corporate event capabilities across Asia.
2018
Established our ASEAN headquarters in Singapore, managing key events like AZBIL’s opening and Siemens Asia’s launch in Thailand, setting new event standards.
2019
Extended our global reach by launching our North American headquarters, solidifying our presence in key global markets.
2020
Celebrated 25 years of innovation and launched our North American headquarters in New Jersey. In response to COVID-19, we introduced event-tech solutions like socialdistance.com and 6ftby6ft.com for safe events.
2021
Opened our European headquarters in London, strengthening our global footprint and ensuring seamless event execution across key international markets.
